An eclectic and expansive sisterhood of artists, musicians, producers, designers, dancers and performers. An organic collective that features and showcases a wide variety of independent artists, singers, emcees and musicians.
The core of the sound is a delicious blend of soulful blues rock seasoned with funk and a dash of trip hop. Their live show draws you into a fantastic voyage of well crafted grooves, melodic solos, enchanting vocals and serious rhythms. YiN is wonderful to watch and awesome to hear!

What does that sound like?
There have been many YiNcarnations and remains a fluid collective that supports the individual creative endeavors of the team. The band has performed and sometimes toured as a backing band for artists like: Lennox Buppy Brown; One Be Lo; Binary Star; Invincible; Miz Korona; Screamin’ Rachel; P-A-U-L; Toli Nameless; Women in Hip Hop; The Foundation.
Band Leader and Founder, Emily Rogers will assemble any desired ensemble from a drum and bass duo; a rock trio to a full funk band complete with horn/string section . If you can dream it, we can hear it!!
YiN also has an eclectic catalog of original music and artistic cover interpretations.
Emily teamed up with the non profit Organization, DAMI, to put together a sequence of live concerts called the ERER Transmutation Series. Each episode was intentionally designed to bring various Detroit artists together to collaborate, create and record live compositions. Located in a neighborhood in Northend Detroit ( www.onemile.us ), the event was free and open to all. This live concert allowed the audience to witness the songwriting process and experience the vulnerability of constructing music together verses performing a prepared live show. People of all ages expressed gratitude for both the performance experience and the insight into that rarely seen process. This video captures the first and only live rendition of the song now titled “Gimme that Soul”
